A Tribute To John Proctor
I recently read The Crucible, and had the option of writing an eulogy or an elegy (a poetic eulogy) for John Proctor. As you can see, I chose to write an elegy. I enjoyed the assignment.
Hark now to this tragic tale of a man Who suffered under his wife’s cold gaze A stormy tempest did reside Within the Proctor home– Brought out at mention of Joy Who let the witches roam Hark now to this painful tale of a man Who brought forth his misery from shadows “Let me keep my name,” he implored His frantic plea fruitless The hangman’s halter now fastened John strode to his inward grace Hark now to this heroic tale of a man Who died to keep his lofty name his own
This is really good, Adia! Evocative and captures his character.
Abosolutely loved it
